The North State Planning and Development Collective at CSU, Chico will hold its Spring Regional Economic Summit May 9, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the CARD Community Center (545 Vallombrosa Avenue) in Chico. An economic analysis and outlook related to the 2018 Camp and Carr fires will be the focus, presented by Dr. Robert Eyler, President, Economic Forensics and Analytics and Professor of Economics at Sonoma State University. Updates from local leaders will also be given.
Dr. Eyler will discuss the economic impact of the Camp and Carr fires, as well as data on the state of the local economy with a perspective of critical indicators to watch during disaster recovery. The presentation will also include a current look at national and state trends, outlining the “four things you need to know†at the state level and an overview of the five stages of recovery. Eyler will also explore lessons learned from the Sonoma and Napa County fires, and discuss the North State recovery compared to other fire-survivor areas. Updates from local leaders will round out the morning, followed by a question and answer period.
Registration is now open. Cost to attend is $30, and can be paid online at www.regonline.com/impactnorthstate.
