The Shasta Historical Society is teaming up with
community leaders and members for their September monthly program titled “Shasta County Votes”. Community leaders and members will explore the history of voting in Shasta County, covering topics such as how/where we have historically voted, milestones for the right to vote and ever evolving voting trends. Speakers will include Jay Thompson as Moderator, Shasta Historical Society’s Curator and Visitor Services Manager; Cathy Darling Allen, Redding City Clerk and Registrar of Voter’s since 2004; Susan Wilson from the Redding League of Women Voters; Frank Treadway, local grassroots activist; and Pat Carr, Carr family archivist. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Contact the Society to get Zoom information emailed to you.
