The Salvation Army established "National Donut Day" in 1938 to honor The Salvation Army's “Donut Lassies,” who traveled to the front lines in WWI. They provided essential goods and sweet treats to troops to boost morale. The Salvation Army is still serving on the front lines here in our community, through a wide range of social services for America’s most vulnerable individuals, veterans and families. In a time of uncertainty, help us provide hope to people in need. The Salvation Army in Redding, California is providing people with assistance as they face job loss and food insecurity due to inflation. We are helping with Food Pantry distribution to vulnerable seniors, families, veterans, rental assistance and utility assistance. Donate online to help your neighbors in need.
