IP Essentials: Insights, Tips and Tactics

Let’s face it.  The subject of intellectual property (IP -- patents, trade secrets and trademarks) can be mind-numbing.

So, we’ve developed a one-hour IP essentials course for business owners, to get you started on this important topic and show you it's not as daunting as it seems.  We’ll discuss what you should know about patents, trade secrets and trademarks, and cover three things about each subject:

•          What is a patent / trade secret / trademark?
•          Why do I need it? and
•          How can I use it to bring value to my business?

You won’t learn everything about IP in this webinar (that’s why IP attorneys exist), but you should walk away with enough basic knowledge to evaluate your own IP portfolio and make some informed decisions.

He has 35 years of entrepreneurial and business management experience.  Over this time, David has started and managed two tech companies and has counseled hundreds of business owners in his own consulting practice and as well as technology commercialization counselor in the SBDC network.  He has been involved with several federal SBIR contracts and grants and serves as a peer reviewer for SBIR grant proposals.
