The Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification is available for qualified woman owned small businesses through the Small Business Administration (SBA). Joining the women’s contracting program can make the WOSB eligible to compete for federal contracts set-aside for the program. The WOSB set-asides are for industries where women have been historically underrepresented for example the construction industry. Some contracts are restricted further to economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSB) which adds the further requirement of income verification. Up until October 2020, woman owned small businesses could self-certify for the program. The SBA now requires full certification for qualified WOSB/EDWOSB through the SBA certification website. The full eligibility requirements for WOSB and EDWOSB are outlined here: Title 13 Part 127 Subpart B of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The following are the minimum eligibility requirements: To be eligible as a WOSB, your business must: To be eligible as an EDWOSB, your business must: Join us this month in celebrating the success of female entrepreneurs!
