Do you want to be part of what will surely be one of the most talked-about events Redding has ever seen?
Chris Hall’s Half K is sure to be so much fun and will probably sell out within hours.
The Half K is to sorta poke fun at the endless stream of 5k runs in town. It’s good-spirited shenanigans that adults will enjoy. It’s all of the fun of a “fun run” without the worst part: the running.

Participants with “run” (walking is fine) in a Half K (or .31 miles or 1640 feet). You and your friends will check in a Lake Redding Pavilion and walk to the Diestelhorst bridge.

But .31 miles is a long way, so there is a refreshment station at the halfway point. At the bridge, you will be refreshed with not just a water station, but complimentary mini donuts. Now that you have all your energy reserves filled up, you’ll head back to the finish line at the Lake Redding Pavilion.

At the completion of the Half K, all participants get a 1st place medal and are greeted with a complimentary beer from Woody’s Brewery. Racers will also get an event t-shirt as well as the amazingly smug .31 oval sticker for your car.

There will have beer and food vendors available for purchase as well as 80’s music for those that want to hang out.

An event like this in Texas sold out in 48 hours in its first year and sold out in 14 minutes in its second year.

And, yes sir (or ma’am), do we have a great charity. All of the proceeds go to Shasta Dam Kiwanis Food For Kids Program. Every week, they give over 115 kids in need backpacks full of nutritious food. They fill the bags on Thursdays, hand them out on Fridays, and get them back on Mondays. They do this every Friday during the school year for kids who would otherwise not eat.
