25th Annual Stuff the Truck Food Drive

Our Big, In-person food drive will be held on Friday, November 4th at Save-Mart in Redding and Farmers Market Place in Shasta Lake.?The Good News Rescue Mission expects to help over 800 local families in need during the Thanksgiving and?Christmas?holidays this year. The food drive goes from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.  

This year’s Stuff the Truck aims to collect enough canned food and frozen birds to allow those who are less fortunate who are not homeless to prepare traditional Holiday meals at home. To assist the roughly 800 families for both major holidays, the Mission has set a goal to gather 800 turkeys and all the canned food goods needed to make complete holiday meals. 

"I am so grateful for our amazing and generous community," said Jonathan Anderson, the Mission's Director. "It's a privilege to serve not only the homeless during this time of year, but also families who need just a little help to celebrate the Holiday's together at home." 

The food items needed most are: Turkeys, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie crust & filling, boxed stuffing, canned veggies, canned yams, potatoes and Spices.
